Salil Tripathi at the World Bank's Inspection Panel - Intimidation & Reprisal Advisory Note

Salil Tripathi joins the Worldbank's Inspection Panel for a virtual discussion on the issue of reprisals against those involved in complaints to independent accountability mechanisms on Wednesday, December 8, from 8 to 10 am Washington, D.C., time and streamed live. The conversation will be moderated by World Bank Executive Director Armando Manuel, with remarks from Mary Lawlor, UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders.

The discussion will coincide with the publication of the seventh report in the Panel’s Emerging Lessons Series. The report – titled “Right to be Heard: Intimidation and Reprisals in World Bank Inspection Panel Complaints” – is based on the Panel’s experience and practice responding to allegations of reprisals since its inception nearly 30 years ago. The report will be available on the websites of the Inspection Panel and the World Bank Accountability Mechanism on Tuesday, December 7.
