Paolo Napolitano is a researcher, analyst and policy advisor with over ten years of professional experience working in conflict analysis and crisis management for International Organisations, research centres, academia and the private sector. His primary research interests include political and security dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa, international security, conflict and instability. He has expertise in conflict and intelligence analysis, strategic foresight and horizon scanning.

From 2012 to 2020 Paolo worked as the lead Middle East political and security analyst at NATO’s strategic military headquarters in Belgium. After leaving NATO, he worked as an independent consultant, including for a German Development Agency-funded project on migration policies; the Clingendael Institute on EU conflict prevention policies in Syria and Iraq; and for IHRB on protecting migrant workers and promoting responsible business in the Gulf region.

Paolo is now a Senior Associate analyst for the Middle East and North Africa regions at Dragonfly Intelligence, a geopolitical and security intelligence service based in London.

Paolo holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Turin, Italy and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Bologna, Italy.
