Sarah Mostafa-Kamel is a seasoned professional in labour rights advocacy, sustainability, and program management. With over a decade of experience, she has led multi-stakeholder initiatives and driven systemic change in various sectors. Having lived and worked across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa, Sarah brings a global perspective to addressing complex challenges and fostering collaboration.


Current Work

As Gulf Sustain Manager at IHRB, Sarah leads efforts to advance sustainable and equitable transitions in the Gulf region. She engages with stakeholders across sectors, produces in-depth reports, and drives strategic initiatives that integrate labor rights with sustainability goals. Her role requires balancing high-level advocacy with pragmatic, region-specific solutions.


Before IHRB

Sarah has a proven track record of advancing labour rights and fostering collaboration within human rights organisations. She has led initiatives to strengthen organisational capacity, build advocacy networks, and promote effective cross-sector collaboration.

At the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Sarah managed regional operations, overseeing programs and services for thousands of workers. Her role included negotiating collective agreements, advising on policy matters, and addressing workplace grievances while coordinating political action and organisational strategy. During her time at the Service Employees International Union, she spearheaded campaigns that improved wages, benefits, and workplace protections, while advocating for systemic reforms such as living wage policies.

Sarah holds a Master’s in Education & Society and a BA in Political Science, Middle East, and African Studies from McGill University.
