Tehtena Mebratu-Tsegaye

Tehtena Mebratu-Tsegaye is a human rights lawyer and researcher. She currently works with Ericsson to advise the business on technology-related human rights risks across the value chain. Previously, Tehtena worked with BT, where she led on strategy and governance for the responsible tech and human rights agenda. At the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, Namati, and the Open Society Justice Initiative, Tehtena led research, provided technical advisory support, and contributed to cases focused on human rights in the context of large-scale land-based sectors. Tehtena trained as a lawyer at an international law firm. She holds an LLM from Columbia Law School where she specialized in international human rights law. She received her BA/MA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and is admitted to practice law in England and Wales, and New York.
