Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment

The Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment (GFRR) is a thought leadership platform for accelerating the responsible recruitment of migrant workers around the world, in line with the Employer Pays Principle.
IHRB in partnership with different partners each year convene a global ecosystem and marketplace – global brands, suppliers, recruitment agencies, governments, employers and employer’s organisations, workers and workers’ organisations, intergovernmental and civil society organisations – to take stock, nurture ideas, foster engagement, and inspire action.
The Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment offers:
- Thought leadership: Taking stock and nurturing ideas to achieve better recruitment regulation and practices and eradicate worker-paid recruitment fees.
- Convening: A global marketplace that inspires and enables uptake of improved recruitment commitments, practices, and outcomes by the diversity of actors involved.
- Networking: Connecting diverse organisations and their networks to accelerate progress around this collective mission.
- Shared learning: Amplifying expertise to scale uptake and empower all to shape a responsible, sustainable, fair, and ethical recruitment industry for migrant workers.
Forum Recaps
Berlin 2017
The first-ever Global Forum was held on 19th-20th June 2017 in Berlin, hosted by IHRB, the Leadership Group for Responsible Recruitment, and Humanity United.
Singapore 2018
The second annual Global Forum took place in Singapore on 11th-12th June 2018, hosted in partnership with the Consumer Goods Forum and Humanity United.
Bangkok 2019
The third Global Forum took place on 9th-10th July 2019 in Bangkok, hosted together with Migrant Forum in Asia, IOM, and Humanity United.
Virtual 2021
The fourth annual Global Forum took place virtually for the first time, held on 12-15 April 2021, and hosted in partnership with the ILO and IOM.
Virtual 2022
The fifth Global Forum took place virtually on 1-3 November 2022, in collaboration with organisations who co-organised sessions and presentations (#GFRRInsights) on key responsible recruitment issues.
New York 2023
The sixth Global Forum took place in person and online from June 13 to 14, 2023. Hosted in partnership with AIM-Progress, GFRR 2023 live-streamed 15 sessions, which participants around the world viewed more than 4,000 times.
London 2024
The seventh Global Forum took place on June 25th—26th, 2024, in London, UK, and online. The event was hosted in partnership with AIM-Pogress and Stronger Together.
