Background
In 2021 SSI and IHRB published the Delivering on Seafarers' Rights 2024 Code of Conduct and accompanying self-assessment questionnaire.
The Code of Conduct is used by shipowners and ship operators to understand the extent to which current operations meet their seafarers’ rights and welfare responsibilities, and by charterers and cargo owners to strengthen due diligence that in turn informs chartering-related decision-making.
RightShip developed the self assessment questionnaire into a the Crew Welfare Self-Assessment Tool, which has been updated and streamlined in 2024.
