Human Rights Due Diligence - From Blaming & Shaming to Knowing & Showing

Held under the theme “The Tipping Point: Sustained stability in the next economy,” the 13th UNEP Finance Initiative Global Roundtable took place from 19-20 October in Washington DC.
The biennial, high-level conference attracted a select group of 600 plus sustainable finance and responsible investment leaders and thinkers for an intensive, two-day dialogue that cast a spotlight on the global sustainable development agenda from the perspective of the financial sector players.
IHRB Chair Mary Robinson introduced the fifth cross-cutting session, in which she focused on moving from an approach of blaming and shaming to embracing the 'knowing and showing' ethos inherent to the corporate responsibility to respect under the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights.
